That’s clever viniculture in an unusual environment.
Best wishes, Pete.
Most certainly is, Pete. I was very impressed
oh my goodness, how extraordinary
Aren’t they?!
That DOES look hostile!
A land of volcanic ash…
They do the same on Pico in the Azores. Looks amazing.
Ah, I didn’t know about the Azores
I knew where that was immediately – John came back with similar pictures from his cycling trip there. i could not believe they were vineyards.
Quite astonishing to see!
Quite amazing Sue
Totally different from any other vineyard I have seen, Brian!
I have to agree Sue
That’s unusual, but I often wonder why crops etc are grown in unsuitable climates.
?people like to be independent ?
This is most unusual and very impressive. Having lived in the Rhine Valley for many years where it’s green and lush I never thought this would work. The Ahr Valley also has volcano soil which is good for the wine.
Thanks, Dina.it was fascinating to see, and we tasted some of the wine which wasn’t bad at all!
