Well, no prizes for guessing where I took these! Perfect for Paula’s challenge today!
Some decrepit stairs that have seen better days:
Lovely old wrought ironwork rather clashes with the graffiti-like painting on the walls and steps:

The electrical wiring in that stairwell looks very dodgy indeed.
Theme nailed as usual, Sue.
Best wishes, Pete.
If you travel in Cuba, you see plenty of seriously dodgy electrics!

Now, how did I know that these thighs belong to Cuba 😀 The captures are terrific, mate 🙂 Happy Easter, Sue!
Aha, because those thighs are near some rather precarious looking electric wires and general decay?
Happy Easter if I haven’t already said it !
Maybe so, but I recognise Cuban female shapes 😀 You can never send too many holiday wishes. Thank you, Sue 🙂
😀😀
Nice photos, Sue. If those stairs could only talk….
Ω
Oh, indeed, Allan’
Very nice Sue. And your one of the tattoo stairs is excellent – I didn’t succeed!
You didn’t succeed?
It was dark – but I have since learned to recuse with Lightroom. Though still not perfect focus!
Recuse??
I was sure that first image was your house, Sue! 🙂 🙂 It’s a beauty. Happy Sunday! Just survived the flying visit from the offspring. Phew! 🙂
Me, in a place with dodgy electric wiring? Really, Jo…. Anyway, glad you liked these!
🙂
Both great shots Sue. Lovely wrought-iron.
Glad you like these, Jude, and I agree, that wrought iron was rather marvellous.
Lovely shots. The contrast in the second photo between the ornate ironwork and the graffiti is almost overwhelming. How long were you in Cuba for? Independent travel or a tour?
This time, I was only there for a few hours, alas, during a cruise…but before I left home I booked a tour with a Cuban company, just for me, so I could see downtown Havana and get some photos
Great decision.
😊
Wonderful captures Sue – I cannot imagine how gaudy this must look in color. Excellent choice doing them in B&W!
Well, B+W was for the challenge, but you’re quite right – that tattoo place was very gaudy, Tina!
Much as I’d like to see the stairs without the graffiti, it looks very striking with it!
My thoughts entirely, Gilly!
Must have been a struggle to decide between “one” and “steps and stairs”, but you made the sacrifice! Great shots and a sense of the stories of the two climbers. You were so photographically busy in Cuba. I want to see the gaudy colour sometime, although b&w is great.
Ah, the tattoo parlour image will be a “One” as the colour version…..
Oh, and Cuba had me busier photographically in the few hours I was there than I have been anywhere for quite some time….
Superb shots both Sue. And brilliant editing. We have no dearth of dodgy electrics around here either 🙂
Thank you, Madhu! Editing made a breeze with good old Silver Efex!
Great photos. I particularly love the last one of them. The winding staircase, the decay the person being watched by the mural painting – it comes beautifully together. And, yes, is very Cuban.
Thanks, Otto! I am especially pleased you took up on the watching mural face….that was what appealed to me after the decay!
Interesting staircases. They make me want to ascend.
Yes, it would be interesting to see what lies above…
Just brilliant!!!! The image with the women … super brilliant.
Glad you liked!
Like it very much!
