To See a World in a Grain of Sand...
These are wonderful – you know I love them!
Glad you do, Ann-Christine!
We love the colourful sky too!!! 🙂
Poor me, in grey Bonn, it’s raining cats and dogs … Now your sky cheered me up as I’m getting prepared for cold and white Norway. Is ist very cold at yours, Ann-Christine?
Poor you, Dina! (Butting in on your conversation with A-C) The sky here has been good today, and we should get some sun here tomorrow…..
Good for you! 🙂 I hope your roads are dry and ok, Sue. Where you affected by the floods at all? Everything was fine in Norfolk, the sun is out there as well. 🙂 😦
Fortunately I am in the South East, no flooding where I am at present….
About 5- here, Dina. I’m just back from Iceland where we had 8- yesterday and walked barefoot through the snow down n 40+ hot spring water! I surprised myself, in fact…I did not think I could do it…
Yikes…barefoot in the snow!
😉
😀😳
Ooooh this sounds more than wonderful, we all envy, envy you this experience!
I’m looking forward to hear and see from Iceland, high up on our list. Did you stay in one place during your stay?
I, too, would like to see the photos! One day I would like to see Iceland for myself…..
And Chillbrook does his magic photo workshops there as well … Let’s play lottery!
Indeed!
As we only had four days, we stayed in Reykjavik and went by car in the surroundings. Winter time you cannot go around the whole island, but we did that a couple of summers – lively recommended! We guided our friends to some nice hot pools and the main attractions – Thingvellir, Gullfoss, Geysir, Eyafjallajökull, Seljalandsfoss, Skogafoss – driving through the magnificent landscapes here. One of the days in Reykjavik only, but it was snowing terribly heavy then. You should have at least ten days in this saga country – and preferably in the Summer to be able to go around the island as well as “inside”!
Good advice, Ann-Christine
Mmm, Chillbrook is going this January again…it would have been great to see him at work…doing magic!
Another time!
Waste of time looking out the window here — it’s any colour you like so long as it’s grey …
Oh, bad luck Chris….
The light you captured is just stunning, both images are really special.
Thanks, Charlie – glad you like the light!
So beautiful, Sue! 😃
Thank you, Sylvia
So pretty through the tree branches – reminds me of many of my Haslemere shots!
Sky seen through skeletal branches has an appeal all of its own!
You phrase it so well… 🙂
😀😀
I prefer these to the B&W version in the previous post. I normally like B&W, but there’s something about that purple above the blue that draws me in.
Nice work, Sue.
Best wishes, Pete.
Fair enough, Pete!
Yes, very colorful and well captured here Sue.
Many thanks, Robert!
Silhouettes wow
Indeed!
I can never get enough trees!
Great! Glad I came up with the goods!
That layered sky in the second one is amazing, so different from the fire of the first.
And yet they were taken within minutes of each other, two different angles from the same window!
When it’s clear we do get some stunning winter skies! It changes so fast though. Lovely compositions 🙂
Thanks, Sarah!
I went back to compare them with your previous post Sue and the colour gives them a totally different atmosphere, whereas I thought BnW gave them a rather sinister appearance, the colour makes them warm and inviting.
Monochrome does give a different atmosphere, Pauline……
Very beautiful light – lovely captures!
Thanks, Inger…..all I had to do was point the camera through my kitchen window’
Hello, simple little soul 🙂 Thank you for the colour version. My favourite is that first one. 🙂
Like an artist painting in the sky. Beautifully captured Sue.
Thanks, Sue – glad you enjoyed these!
These are gorgeous Sue, just beautiful…
Glad you think so, Sherri! I love the sunsets from my kitchen window
gorgeous colour and silhouette!
Thanks, Hannah!
