There have been some brilliant responses to this week’s Weekly Photo challenge of Eerie set by Cheri Lucas Rowlands at WordPress…check some out for yourself. Because of the standard of other entries, I thought this was one I would miss. Then I decided that this black and white image, taken at the abandoned village of Craco in Italy, would perhaps be appropriate….just look at those birds circling above the ruins, and the atmospheric clouds!
Looks like something out of LotR!
Well there’s a thought…just need a Black Rider or two….
fantastic photo!
Thanks! I had some fun in Snapseed, just to up the drama! 🙂
Incredible shot! Definitely appropriate!
Many thanks! 🙂
thanks for sharing this great shot. i, too, thought a B&W perspective hit the theme well
Many thanks! I think deserted places often look best in monochrome, but so far, this is the only image I have converted from this place…
Really well done! And completely scary in this time of the year… 😀
Thanks! That bit of beefing up in Snapseed seems to have done the trick….but Craco is quite eerie anyway, so I can’t take all the credit…. 🙂
Brillant!
Thanks, Mrs C, glad you like it! Craco is an amazing place, and a bit of black and white tinkering just hit the spot for this challenge… 🙂
Been on a photography course today. my head is spinning.
Oh, wow, what were you learning?
Oh basics M’Dear. Only the basics. I hide my inabilities as well as I can.
🙂
Fabulous!! Looks like a castle for a vampire movie!
It’s a whole deserted village…. 🙂
Spooky allright..
Thanks, Zen! 🙂
You’re welcome again.. 🙂
Excellent choice, love the birds around the tower!
Thanks, Tina….those birds add a certain air of disquiet, I think.
This is just perfect! Are they cave houses?
Some of the houses seem to have been built into the rock, and I guess originally many of them were cave dwellings…. Glad you liked the image.
