Amy has us looking at a Negative Space….I do like it for bringing our attention to the subject. Here, I took this image of Alliums against the light, darkening the background creating plenty of Negative Space:

Here, the darkness of the interior meant that the cobweb stood out in all that negative space:
And here, use of a wide aperture to create a blurred, bokeh laden background, a great way to create negative space, when the background is ‘too busy’:

Agapanthus unfurling
One of the reasons that I had just off-white blinds installed in my front room, as when the sun shines directly onto them, I can create images with plenty of negative space, as here:
