Ailsa is looking for animal companions this week. Could have shown the donkeys from Greece again, but instead I trawled another archive. Around a decade ago in the region of Maramures in Romania, I noticed a number of animal companions. Solid oxen pulling a cart:

A calf just purchased at the livestock market, looking most inquisitive:

Oh my, how wonderful….
Like going back 100 years or so…
I should have entered a photo of me with Ollie!
(But I wouldn’t have taken it, if I was in it…)
Nice selection, Sue.
Best wishes, Pete.
No Selfies then, Pete! Well, I abhor the things generally
Nice!!! ❤ ❤ ❤
Lovely clarity in photos of people going about their business with animals that are more than companions. I bet that pig has a culinary destiny!
I rather agree with you regarding little porker….
I do like the oxen and the calf. I find it hard to admire pigs, tasty though they undoubtedly are. 🙂
Your phraseology has me thinking you don’t eat pork?
Oh, but I do! It’s my favourite. 🙂 How are you feeling this morning?
Not great, going to take it easy as it could reach 24, 25C today….but tomorrow it should cool down. I hope so, as I need to get some bits done.
You should live on my patch, Sue. I doubt we’ll make 17C today 🙂 🙂
I should, but hey, I have a lot of friends down here….
And that’s very important! Take care, hon 🙂
Thanks, Jo! And yes, I need my friends for my sanity!
Love your choices, Sue.

Well, strange to say, I don’t have many ‘normal’ animal shots, cats and dogs as pets!
I, either, Sue.
OK!
I love the piglet Sue 🙂
Isn’t it just cute!
Wonderful! Adore that piglet!
And the calf??
😚
What does that mean?
Blowing kisses!
Aaah! Well, he was a cute calf !
Poor little beasties!
