Saw these ancient stones in Skane (Scania county), Sweden in the most stunning late afternoon light…. for years I have tried to find a stone circle in decent light, and finally, hurrah!

When did you find them at last? The photo is gorgeous with this tinted sky. I love this combination of colours and the stone circles are my favourite traces from the past 🙂 Well done!
I was in Sweden and my friend was driving me around, this is one of the places I saw, unplanned by me
Stunning … well done and that sky is priceless …. next time for me.
Thanks, Vivi- the sky was priceless!

Nice menhirs, Sue. I have never been to Scandinavia, and probably never will now. Good to see the photos of your trip.
Best wishes, Pete.
Thanks, Pete – a few more to come!
Beautiful!
Thank you!
Worth waiting for, Sue. 🙂

Yes, got there at last!
Magnificent!
Thank you, Anna!
Oh this is just excellent, Sue. Whenever I find a stone circle the light is usually rubbish. I long to find one on a frosty morning with a low sun…
Well, it’s taken me nigh on 40 years!! I went to Castlerigg in the Lake District but of course the weather was dul, seriously dull. Nearly 20 years after that, Callanish was seen in drizzle. In between, there were others. In dull weather!
really wonderful photo, Sue
Many thanks, Mitza – I was so lucky with the light that day!
luck is very important in life:)
Certainly is!
Nice dramatic sky. Wonderful photo. 😀
Thanks, Cee! It was a fantastic sight!
Yeah 💞
😊😊
Magic, how big are they, people height?
Well, we didn’t get close due to a fence, but a bit lower, I would say….
Absolute beauty. The contrast of the stones and the sky: wow.
It was just fab!
Wow! Such great lighting and a dramatic sky as a bonus.
Glad you like that sky, Sue! What a gift of a scene I had there….
Very moody photograph, and very well shot.
Glad you like it, Val
Hoorah indeed! What a magnificent shot, Sue 🙂 🙂
Thank you! I was chuffed to bits with the light and the clouds!
I would be too! 🙂
😊😊💕
I’m really fascinated by stone circle.. love the history and all the stories linked to them. Very nice picture!
Thank you, they were a great sight under that sky!
I keep finding great light but nothing to put in front of it, or great objects – like stone circles – but with white skies and blah light. Congratulations on finding both (and happening to have your camera with you at the time!)
Well, my camera went everÅ·where on this trip!
Great shot – very dramatic lighting!
Yay! I wanted a bit of drama, and there it was!
