Deep in the forest / 1

Plenty of old cars, slowly being consumed by nature in a Swedish forest…. I shall drip feed a few of the things seen over the next week or three. First up, a Ford Anglia, still with steering wheel and part of the front suspension:

  1. Ah, the old Anglia. So easy to drive, and to fix. Halcyon days.
    Best wishes, Pete.

  2. I used to be a park Ranger in Inwood Hill Park, Manhattan. Back then there were abandoned cars in the park and usually torched. Sad to see this. Hope it stops happening.

  3. Stranded on the road to nowhere. Great shot, Sue.

  4. Oh have you been in Sweden… love those decaying cars… There is a place outside Gothenburg with some old military trucks… I might post them.

  5. Not something we see much of in the UK!

  6. So it’s a museum? Not sure about that, but it hurts me to see trash of any sort deposited incorrectly. 😦 Good photo, though.

  7. I’d missed Viveka’s post. It provides a great context for your elegiac black and white. You must have had a field day! Cool in the forest, I hope?

    • Sue

Correct on two counts – I had a field day (but wearied too much to stay as long as I would have liked), and yes, it was cool in the forest! My elegiac black & white is a great comment, Meg!

  8. Did you get a Saab for me?

  9. 🙂 A very photogenic piece of wilderness with human traces 😀
