Mundane Monday

I’ve been debating whether to join Mundane Monday challenge, so here goes for my first entry…. Detail from a small stone statue  – what appealed to me was the texture of the stone and the lichen, and the detail in the hand:

  1. I recognise this 🙂
Nicely cropped. And I like the texture and the lichens too.

  2. Great textures Sue – The Stone Roses? 🙂

  3. Lovely idea for a challenge. Love your image. That lichen looks like fool’s gold. 🙂

  4. I like it, old stone is very photogenic, the texture is strokable and the lichen adds draw you in colour.

  5. As others have said, it is fa from mundane. The lute player has historical context in the aged stone, which you have captured perfectly.
    Best wishes, Pete.

  6. Not mundane at all as I find it textured, delicate, and interesting. So there!

  7. Love this one Sue – beautifully composed. The textures are marvelous.

  8. Not so mundane and more like fascinating texture.
On another note are you all settled? No more cleaning out?

  9. It’s a great shot for the challenge!

  10. A lovely first entry for Jo’s challenge, Sue. Great mood in this one.
Sorry, I was so long gone, have you moved or are you moving things around home?

  11. So sharp it has a 3D effect that lichen appears to be growing out of the photo. Certainly not mundane…

  12. I have always been fascinated by the stories told the walls. Now, I am also enraptured listening to their music.

      The stories told by walls…

      • Thanks for your correction. I am aware that my level of English is very basic, but I hope that it will be good enough to communicate my feelings and thoughts

Marcelo, it wasn’t meant as a correction! It was me chattering on, repeating, because I liked, and agreed, with the idea…. I love to get your comments, and your English is fine for getting your ideas across….. I hope you will continue to comment!

  13. it’s great!! I love the hand and a unique perspective!

  14. Perfect Sue! It has such great graphic lines taken in close like that which makes it seem modern and then all the gorgeous gnarly textures give it back its’ age – that yellow is fab too!

  15. I like the lines and curves, the contrast and pop of color. Nice observation and great finding . Thank you Susan for joining the challenge 🙂

  16. The spots of colour enhance the fabulous texture of the stone. Wrong choice for ‘mundane!! 🙂

  17. I want to see the whole cherub 🙂 But I like what I can see, Sue. 🙂

  18. I beg your pardon Susan, I am afraid that once again I make a blunder. Some bloggers correct my grammatical mistakes and I thank them very much for that.

Off course I will continue commenting your pictures. 🙂

  19. 🙂
Thanks Susan, have a nice day.

  21. As I’m sure others said, this is not mundane – just the hint of the figure implies lots of story! Lovely.

  22. Perfect in every respect – texture, colours and composition. Love it.
