Lens-artists Weekly Photo Challenge 108: Sanctuary

At present, now that we are in strange times and I am no longer travelling, I am finding the area around me to be my sanctuary.

I have already shown images from some of the roads around here, but recently I have explored some other parts.

An avenue of trees leads to a small lake

plenty of birds on the lake:

Weeping willows visible on the lake shore

Heading further round, we come to a wooded area, still with last autumn’s fallen leaves. On a rather cloudy day, perhaps a little forbidding:

But look at the leaf canopy caught by the sun on a bright day:

I have certainly found a new sanctuary for these Covid days

  1. I am glad you have found your sanctuary locally, Sue. I like the dark woodland on hot days as it is always cooler.
    Best wishes, Pete.

  2. Yes. Each of these qualifies as a peaceful sanctuary. Lovely.

So good to see you have found a new sanctuary in these extraordinary times Sue and it looks like a peaceful place to spend some time. The walk looks beautiful and I especially love the way you captured the light filtering through the trees. Thank you so much for this lovely contribution to the challenge 💚
