One definition of geometry I found is:
“the shape and relative arrangements of the parts of something”
So I give you the parts of one area of a garden – it looks even better if you step back from your screen!
See more examples at Paula’s blog here.
I always admire gardeners who take their time to perfect this.. but I think I prefer a wilder kind.
I general, I would agree with you, but I have a very soft spot for this little place 🙂
What an interesting interpretation of the concept of photographing geometry.
Thank you, Suzanne – I wanted to think a bit wider! 🙂
I nearly said “think outside the box” (but didn’t want the pun)!!
Works for me Sue!
Best wishes, Pete.
Great! Glad to hear it, Pete 🙂
I always admire neat box hedges, a labour of love.
I would agree!
I love that you have turned to nature for this response, Sue. And a very effective photo of it 🙂
Thank you, Paula! Glad you like it 🙂
See you the last week in July. I’m signing off now.
Have a good break…..
Pingback: Black & White Sunday: Geometry | Lost in Translation
Black & white images always have such interesting things to point out to us…Loved that you found your answer for this challenge in nature.
Thanks, Charlie, I was determined to find something a bit different….
If this is your secret garden then I hope to pay it a visit at the end of August. Maybe you’re around then?
I would love to meet you, Jude! End August should be OK, as long as it’s not the last day!
NO, last day I shall be home again. The previous week – pet-sitting for daughter whilst she lives it up in France 😀
Oh, right!
Another creative interpretation Sue. The B&W processing makes the pattern stand out.
Thanks, Madhu….that’s what I thought!
I’m standing as far back as I can without banging my head on the window, Sue. And it looks great! 🙂
Thanks, Jo…..I should have put a health warning in the post!! 😳
Indeed! 😦
No straight lines in nature. Intriguing fascinating picture with the textures, the contrasting shapes and lines. Wildness with set formula. (Somehow the flower stalks seem to be an audience like people mulling around at a museum exhibit)
Love the idea of the lavender stalks as audience!
A plant performance art? Never know what will take root with them (giggles – oh. real live lavender – cool!)
😳😀
Lavender is beautiful, even if it is in back and white you can still recognize it and it makes an impact. Beautiful photos Sue!!
Many thanks, Janaline!
