It’s interesting how some flowers manage to still look beautiful while dying, like these, and others just look a mess!
Oh, absolutely- I actually find that roses are not the best, but these were elegant. Tulips are my favourite for graceful, balletic demise, peonies next

My mum would never throw cut flower heads out. leave as long as possible, then let them dry….. eventually they disintegrate, but many times not for a year or more. When the numbers got just too much they ended up in the compost. But they gave here lots of pleasure….. far longer than the pleasure she got from receiving flowers for an occasion.
