This time I remember where it was – Forcalquier, where we had gone to stroll about the market. I still have some wonderful wooden spoons made from olive wood. Simple, smooth and very strong. The wood hasn’t split at all after 16 years of very regular use.
We had gone for a coffee for a break from the midday sun, and I saw these wonderful windows and balconies across the road, with the shadows of the leaves playing across the building in the breeze:

Just wish I had taken more of the shutters …which are barely visible at the top of the image.
A great shot. And without wishing to do down your wooden spoons – whose don’t last a lifetime?
A few I had in the past!
Certainly are wonderful windows 🙂
Thank you, Brian!
Such lovely soft muted colours.
Yes, that’s what appealed, and the shadows!
Lovely capture of ‘faded elegance’, Sue.
Best wishes, Pete.
Many thanks, Pete!
Delightful. One of my favourite subjects.
Yay.! Pleased you liked this, Andrew!
I also love your composition, tree branches on one side, the lamps on the other. Beautiful!
Thank you, Amy!, pleased you like it
The ironwork and the stonework are so beautiful I don’t miss the shutters.
Well, yes, there’s plenty to feast the eyes on!
