To See a World in a Grain of Sand...
That’s a strikingly simple and austere church. Lovely!
Yes, lovely it was…nestled amongst Cypress trees in the arid Cretan summer landscape
What a lovely spot!
It was! I had a little book called Landscapes of Eastern Crete, and it got us to a number of great places….in the late ‘80s, long before SatNavs!
Lovely Sue 🙂
Thanks, Brian!
One of those trips where we probably passed each other without knowing. I haven’t been back since late 90s and it was already very different. Not so many quiet peaceful places now
You’re right about the quiet peaceful places, Debbie….
Even without your tag, the photo immediately screams ‘Greece!’ 🙂
Best wishes, Pete.
The cypresses and the arid earth?
And the building. 🙂
Well, yes of course!
What beetleypete said. The cypresses, the hills, the architecture – just everything!
Yes!
We had Landscapes of Western Crete! I remember it being good too, also in the 80s (prob 1987).
Well, our paths might have crossed, unknowingly!!
You never know!
😄
Oh, so did you do the Samaria gorge….here’s my favourite image from there https://suejudd.com/2014/04/21/one11/
We did! That’s a fabulous image. We will have pictures somewhere in the loft, not seen them for years.
I took images on slides (transparencies), and a few years ago scanned some of them in….this is one. Glad you like it!
