Today I shall post a few green cars…firstly, some seen in Cuba – Havana, Trinidad da Cuba and Cienfuegos:
…and now some of the sporting kind, seen at Le Mans and Angoulème (NBL 660 was a Lotus, British Racing Green, but in the dark it looks black):

Very jolly! Childhood memories for me though. Aaagh!
😳😫
LOL, I always lusted after a british racing green sports car but I fear my sporty life is behind me. I did once have a pretty spiffy little Lexus sports car which I sold with a broken heart. Funny story…..I went alone to meet the guy who answered my ad. He and his huge friend wanted to test drive it so rather than let them take it I went along in the little back seat. It later occurred to me I could have been kidnapped and/or killed since I didn’t know them at all and I’d never have been able to fight or flee from them. SIGH. The good news is it turned out they were policemen and the guy did buy the car for my full asking price. The foolish trust of idiotic youth!! LOL, thanks for the fond memory today Sue!
Yay! I did have my sporstscar in my earlier life, but Red! Ferrari red…
WOW!
The car wasn’t a Ferrari!
Ah well, a girl can dream!
But I was taken for a ride from Dublin airport in a 1970s Ferrari a few years ago…..
When can you trust, if not when young! I think we all look back with a shudder sometimes and think of the chances we took! But it was fun, wasn’t it, and at the time the risk hardly registered.
Totally agree I was talking to a friend yesterday about hitchhiking in the 1980s
Glad you escaped with your life intact Tina! I guess you could have asked one of them to wait whilst you and the other took the car out, we just don’t think of the consequences when we are young. Invincible!
Invincible, indeed
Frighteningly I was at a point when I should definitely have known better Jude 😡
Ohh, lovely. I’d be lying down with my camera for such a beauty too. 😀
Yay!
So does your green story include racing any of these youself?!
Sadly, no!
😦
Beautiful claassic cars! Love every one of them.
Thanks!
Love your green cars even though I’m not a car person. I had a boring Honda for years and then got adventurous and went for a Honda Jazz! You got a lot more from your Cuba trip (photographically that is) than I did. I didn’t manage to photograph many cars at all. I think out ‘minder’ wasn’t’ too happy with me doing so as he had a bit of the ‘cringe’ factor as regards Cuba’s place in the world and we had a hard time convincing him we were not the enemy out to denigrate the country. I think it was the time when Leyland had pulled out of supplying them with buses so we weren’t exactly flavour of the month. Anyway, Go Green!
Glad you liked these!
Classic green
Thanks!
That got me thinking. I have owned four green cars. A 1963 Vauxhall Viva HA, a 1974 Hillman Hunter 1725 DL, a 1995 Fiat Punto 1.2, and a 1998 Chrysler Neon 2.0 LX. Julie had a green Vauhall Astra 1.6 L when we moved to Norfolk. Now I have a siver car, and hers is mid-blue. 🙂
Best wishes, Pete.
I have never owned a green car, but as a family we had a green Hillman Super Minx in the 1970s
Great memories, Sue 🤗💕
Indeed!
Yay! You found some green cars in Cuba! And I love the Lotus! I once had a Corgi model Lotus in racing green, I loved it.
I once had a model of the Lotus 25 I think it was, single seater F1 car that Jim Clark drove…..
Had to laugh at the Cuban car with the bonnet up. We got a taxi in Havana one day (though it was pink) which ended up in that state. Fortunately, other cars homed in on us and we weren’t left standing long.
How long ago was that? I know those cars were kept running by the ingenuity of the people, held together with string and sealing wax, so to speak, but things are changing

Aah, OK…so they really were held together with ingenuity,y
Lovin’ the green cars Sue 🙂
Thanks, Brian!
Terrific cars for this week. I enjoyed viewing your photos 😀
Thank you, Cee 😊
It”s like 1950 green cars… good memory and old is gold
😊😊
Now, that is a wonderful collection of cars and green to boot. There is something about old cars just need endless time and money
I had an old car once, loved it but it did eat money!!
Like humans the older the car gets more maintenance is required!
Absolutely!
