Thursday’s Special: Wintry

As I failed to carry my camera the other day when taking my car to the garage, I missed some spectacular images of frost-covered weeping willows…grrr

So I had to search the archives, which are largely bereft of anything interestingly wintry. In the end it fell to scanning a print from yonks ago when I was skiing in Austria, and the quality isn’t great:

I think you would agree it looks gloomily wintry! Posted for Paula’s Thursday Special.

  1. Beautiful, Sue. It is not all white. It has some interesting tones of brown and grey too.

Thanks, Paula! Sadly, that was the last time I went skiing… I remember not having the stamina the rest of the group had, and it would be quite some years before all the pennies dropped….

  3. Looks dreamy Sue! I love to ski!

  4. Love this,…Brrrrr Brrrrr …!

  5. We have all done that….forgot the camera that is! Sometime you make use of your mobile phone, but the resultant image that results, usually just serves as ‘kick’ that you forgot the camera!!! But you still on occasions do. Nice image fro the archive 🙂

  6. Really beautiful scene, Sue. I’ve never skied. I think I missed out, but it’s too late to start now. 😅

  7. Quality or not, it is suitably wintry. I have never been skiing, but I have been to some very snowy places!
    Best wishes, Pete.

  8. It looks pretty good to me, in a shivery kind of way!

  9. I think the current quality adds atmosphere. Eerily bleak.

  10. Amy

Beautiful, indeed! I used to ski in Rockies, Colorado.😄

  11. Just got a photo taken in the Sierra Nevada near Reno and Tahoe–325 inches of snow. I posted on Facebook.

  12. It’s perfectly wintery! And another piece of photographic autobiography.

  13. The efforts some people will go to for a pal, Sue 🙂 🙂
