Anne has challenged us this week to find our own fascinating structures that capture our attention, tell a story or are just beautiful.
So I have got thinking a little, and will be showing some old buildings, both maintained/restored and ruined. And I shall show just one or two modern buildings.
So first up, a mix of old and new seen from the Mersey, including the Liver building:
For no reason at all, I’m now changing countries….to Spain.
One of my favourite buildings of all is the Mezquita of Cordoba – just look at the fabulous details :
Staying with ecclesiastical buildings, a couple of little old chapels in West Sussex:

You have so many examples to draw from, Sue. Great selections!
Best wishes, Pete.
Many thanks, Pete!
These images are so ancient buildings are so amazing. I love these photos. Anita
Thanks Anita!
Those banded arches in Cordoba are so typical of Andalusia (though I’ve never been) that I can almost feel the heat! And then there’s the welcome shade of the darkened interiors,.a couple of which you show. And that iconic pyramidal L’pool outline – hard to mistake!
I loved Andalusia! And I. was pleased to see that Liverpool icon!
The Mesquita is such a wonderful subject, Sue.
It most certainly is, Jo – peerless
Great images for this challenge Sue! i liked how you varied the structures and varied their locations. Well done!
Many thanks, Anne….I almost didn’t get a post done! Couldn’t decide what to include

Nice mix. I prefer the older buildings.

A great gallery Sue, and well done for plunging in. I was overwhelmed by the Big Subject, and in the end, just didn’t engage.
