Lens Artist’s Photo Challenge #246: Still life

This week Patti has us looking at Still Life.

Here goes for a couple of Found Still Lifes.

First up, a National Trust kitchen scene:

Now a found Still Life with chair and hat:

Still Life with old sewing machine that I kept for that purpose:

Squeezing the most into a Still Life frame

….and again

And now for a kitchen Still Life, minimalist:

Here’s one I threw together, aiming for light and shadows:

In the gloom

Now for a jumble of old items:

And here’s a post breakfast Still Life:

Well, hope you enjoyed these!

  4. Love the singer sewing machine and black and white letters. Terrific photos Sue 😀

  5. Love these! Especially the scene with chair and hat as well as the Singer sewing machine. Reminds me of my grandmother 💜

  6. PR

    Very artistic Sue 🙂

  7. The Singer gets my vote. But all were great.

  8. This was a challenge with your name writ large. You have hosts of great images.

  9. You’re really good at still lives, Sue. Especially love the first two.

  10. The gloom and the jumble are very painterly – my favourites.

  11. Wow Sue – you definitely have mastered the still life, both in terms of technique and subject matter. Superb. I loved them all but your “thrown together” image and the 2 that follow it are my favorites of this wonderful set.

Many thanks, Tina….I would never have thought I could ‘do’ Still Life, but one day I thought I would give it a go, and realised I had a knack…

  12. A very eclectic series – I love how different each one is in vibe & composition, each a study of hone still life can reveal so much.

The B&W of the sewing machine resonates with me.

  13. Ever so good Sue. I was waiting for one of your old ones with the book wine glass and glasses

  14. Sue

Pleased you like the variety of these, Ju-Lyn. As for the sewing machine, I’m glad I kept it!
