This week Donna has asked us to show Messages. These can take many forms, and I’ve selected just a few.
First up, I thought I wouLd show some stones that I saw on a walk that I took in lockdown a couple of years ago, a variety of little messages, created in images:

Now for a message in the form of advertising on a blackboard:

…and this got me thinking of an advert on a wall in Krakow, Poland:

So I then got to thinking about old signs, and ghost signs on walls:

And finally, a warning to drivers of cows on the road in Lanzarote…..but there are no cows on that island:

Sign always sends a message, and some of them are just lovely. You have found good one Sue!
Many thanks, Ritva, pleased you enjoyed these!
🙂
I love the little message stones, and the cow warning made me smile 😀 I’d thought of ghost signs myself before going in another direction completely – that’s a great example!
Pleased you liked the ghost signs, especially!
hahaha great ending. I am curious about the cow sign if there are no cows on the island, aren’t you? too funny. I loved your rock art in the first photo. We can al relate to looking for things to bring light to our days at that time. My favorite is Eat a Pat-a-Cake. clever advertising. Thanks for coming along Sue.
Thanks, Donna! Some of the old signs are the best! A past life….
Old signs and ghost signs are great to find.
Aren’t they just! I’ve just realised WP seems to have ‘unfollowed’ me from your blogs….
That happens to me too. You’ll have to follow me again 😚
Yep, I must get to it
I love old signs barely legible on old brick buildings around here. It allows me a better understanding of the way it used to be. I love you shots of the old signs.
Agreed, old signs give us a view of past life…
And such dramatic changes often.
Yes, very true…
Good selection, Sue. During the lockdowns,I saw lots of painted ‘message stones’ around Beetley. But they have all disappeared, making me wonder who took them away.
Best wishes, Pete.
Thanks, Pete….and yes, you have a point
Thank you, Margaret!
What great messages you have for us to delight in. 😀 😀
Thanks, Cee!
Love the signs, Sue, and the cow warning where there are no cows is a find. 🙂
Oh, I think it’s well known
Glad to give you a challenge!
The cow sign is a hoot Sue and I loved the sign in Poland!
The fish soup sign was fun!
Great choices, Sue! Loved the cow sign…and the others too!
Thanks, AC!
I like all of these, bit especially the ghost signs and the painted stones. The latter sprang up all around here too during lockdown, and you still find them in places.
I know you like ghost signs, Anabel!
I do indeed!
Found any new ones?
Not lately!
Me neither….
Old signs are so cool.
Certainly are!
I love the signs that are stuck in time. Enjoyable to see, Sue. Thanks!
Pleased you fenjoyed this post, Jane!
I love the ghost messages and old signs – so wonderful to read (or try to read) and get a feel for that time period.
Yes, completely agree!
