LAPC #234: Messages

This week Donna has asked us to show Messages. These can take many forms, and I’ve selected just a few.

First up, I thought I wouLd show some stones that I saw on a walk that I took in lockdown a couple of years ago, a variety of little messages, created in images:

Now for a message in the form of advertising on a blackboard:

…and this got me thinking of an advert on a wall in Krakow, Poland:

So I then got to thinking about old signs, and ghost signs on walls:

And finally, a warning to drivers of cows on the road in Lanzarote…..but there are no cows on that island:

  1. Sign always sends a message, and some of them are just lovely. You have found good one Sue!

  2. I love the little message stones, and the cow warning made me smile 😀 I’d thought of ghost signs myself before going in another direction completely – that’s a great example!

  3. hahaha great ending. I am curious about the cow sign if there are no cows on the island, aren’t you? too funny. I loved your rock art in the first photo. We can al relate to looking for things to bring light to our days at that time. My favorite is Eat a Pat-a-Cake. clever advertising. Thanks for coming along Sue.

  4. Old signs and ghost signs are great to find.

  5. I love old signs barely legible on old brick buildings around here. It allows me a better understanding of the way it used to be. I love you shots of the old signs.

  6. Good selection, Sue. During the lockdowns,I saw lots of painted ‘message stones’ around Beetley. But they have all disappeared, making me wonder who took them away.
    Best wishes, Pete.

  7. Sue

  8. What great messages you have for us to delight in. 😀 😀

  9. Love the signs, Sue, and the cow warning where there are no cows is a find. 🙂

  10. Sue

Glad to give you a challenge!

  11. The cow sign is a hoot Sue and I loved the sign in Poland!

  12. Great choices, Sue! Loved the cow sign…and the others too!

  13. I like all of these, bit especially the ghost signs and the painted stones. The latter sprang up all around here too during lockdown, and you still find them in places.

  14. Old signs are so cool.

  15. I love the signs that are stuck in time. Enjoyable to see, Sue. Thanks!

  16. I love the ghost messages and old signs – so wonderful to read (or try to read) and get a feel for that time period.
