Mountains! I have always loved to see mountains, but preferably in good weather!
Here’s an image I took near Grindelwald in Switzerland in 1980 on an InterRail trip – fair weather mountain scene!:

…and now for mountains in Austria, backdrop to the Tyrolean mountain church of Heiligenblut:

Years later, I almost got an image of misty blue distant mountains, the Pyrenees in France:

Now I need to trawl my archive further, I know I have images of mountains in Scotland, Wales, France, Romania, Cuba…..
So first up let’s look at the Cuillins on Skye, seen from Elgol on a bad weather day

Now we’ll go up to near the summit of Cader Idris in Snowdonia, Wales:

Now to to the Vercors massif in France, and some great roads!

And next, let’s see the Carpathians in Romania

and the Sierra Madre mountains in Cuba, seen from a 1960s Russian Antonov flying low over the beach:

Now we’re in the Tatra mountains in Poland on a really miserable weather day:

A vertiable mountain-fest, Sue! Some excellent mountain images.
Best wishes, Pete.
Thanks Pete! A mountain fest it is!,
Beautiful set of mountain images, Sue. Thank you for sharing you travels from Switzerland, to Austria, France… Fabulous adventures!
Yes, I’ve had some good ones!
Wow, these are amazing!
Thanks, Dawn! Glad you liked this post😊
Beautiful Mountain View’s and so many of them, lucky you to have seen them all
Pleased you liked my mountains seen through the years!
they all look like Sounds of Music to me : )
😄😄
The only ones I have seen are those on Skye. My mother and I traveled there in 1974 and had a great uncrowded visit. I grew up among very high mountains in Oregon and lived through the volcanic eruption of one of them–Mt. St. Helens– which I viewed from my front porch.
Oh, goodness, to witness a volcanic eruption so close!
It was exciting but cleaning up the very heavy ash was not. It filled our gutters.
Oh, nightmare…
It looks light but is actually the weight of rocks.
Oh, OK!
You have been around, Sue! Beautiful captures – Heiligenblut too!
These images have been seen over a long period of time!
I love mountains in any weather. So atmospheric in bad weather. Some lovely photos here. I think I’m not going to have time to get anything together for this challenge, more’s the pity. That’s one fewer for Amy to worry about.
Pleased you enjoyed this post, Margaret!
So many wonderful mountain views Sue 🙂
Thanks, Brian!
Thank you for sharing these…worlds I’ll never visit.
Pleasure, Brenda! I have visited Virtually quite a few places that I’ll never get to get to, courtesy of blogging friends!
Excellent. Love the steeple and peaks offset too.
Thanks, John!
What an adventure ✨️
What a lot of adventures, Becky!
A great mountain tour Sue! I think Skye was my favourite despite the poor weather – or quite probably because of it 😃
Yay! Well it was debatable whether we would get across from Elgol!
The Tatry one almost made me homesick, Sue- not that that makes any sense! And I never got to see the Cullins. Love that shot. Happy weekend, hon.
Pleased you liked this post, Jo! Have a good weekend 🥰
It’s hard to decide – if I was asked – but I really like the Cuillins on Skye photo. And that Antonov looked a bit battered and worn!
Thanks, John! That Antonov was definitely worn, and the pilot was very gentle with it!
Yes. The story of my life Sue. You have to be gentle with your old birds.
😄
gorgeous views 🙂
