This week, Sofia invites us to take a closer look at urban environments
what to post? I shall pick a few city images taken over the years, old, modern, in no particular order.
First up, a few images from London enduring city of old and new:

Here, laid out ahead of us, is Matera in Basilicata:

and seen here, the new over the very old Sassi of Matera:

A few old buildings seen from a hotel terrace in Seville:

Now we’ll’ see a few cities from high viewpoints
Here is Porto

And now Lisbon, seen from the Alfama district:

And shown recently, Lucca from the Torre Guinigi:

And finally, Florence laid before you below the Duomo, with urban builder at work:

You had me at Tower Bridge, Sue. My favourite view in London.
A very nice urban selection.
Best wishes, Pete.

The second London one is amazing. Then the Lisbon one, and not just for sentimental reasons, its a very good photo 🙂
Ah, the second London one was taken from a rooftop terrace, quite a sight! And I love that Lisbon one
That’s a fine London trio, Sue, but my favourite is the first of Matera. Love that moody sky.
