In search of a Ghost Sign or two

A visit to Guildford yesterday to meet friends for lunch had me searching out a couple of buildings with Ghost Signs. I don’t often come across them now, but did a bit o& research

First up, on my way from the station into town…some very indistinct lettering:

….and after lunch, I went for a trip down to Quarry Street, and found the best one:

  1. You’re right Sue. Ghost signs are an Endangered Species. Well researched and photographed!

  2. Oh……..ghost signs could be a god Ragtag Prompt for the future. These are fabulous Sue 😉

  3. Great idea…. I have for many years passed a sign (in the car) high on the side of an old shop. I have been meaning to stop and get a shot…… it is fading rapidly. Its for Morning Glory – can you guess what it advertised ?

  4. A good selection of ‘ghosties’, Sue.
    Best wishes, Pete.

  5. I like your ghosts signs. 😀 😀

  6. I wonder how many accidents that last one caused as people slowed down to read the whole thing! Great ghost signs.
