I dont think I’ve really got anything surreal, and wanted to create some new images, but time and inclination deserted me…
So is rather a poor gallery:

To See a World in a Grain of Sand...
That’s a fair effort, Sue. I have never intentionally taken a surreal photo, so just as well I am not in the challenge. 🙂
Best wishes, Pete.
Thanks, Pete!
Not half bad…. 😃
Oh, thanks, David! But I feel I could have done better…
I gave this one a miss for those same reasons.
Well, quite,,.not our normal habitat!
Fishing for compliments? Because I think your gallery is wonderful.
Well, I wasn’t , but thanks for your comment, pleased you like my images!
I gave this a miss, not having time to settle to it this week for obvious reasons. A nice selection of interesting photos, so while not THAT surreal, they definitely pass muster.
Pleased you think they pass muster, Margaret, as they certainly aren’t particularly surreal!
I reckon you get at least an 8/10 I appreciate the effort that went into their production. The lack of inspiration doesn’t help 🙂
Thanks, Brian! I had inspiration for ne stuff, but no energy!
I would have had a lot of difficulty. But I am really intrigued by the black and white one of the lady wearing a coat with huge links of iron chain.
Yippee!, I hoped someone would remark on that one! A friend and I were on a photo trip in France some years ago, I saw an old gate with chains and I did a double exposure as an experiment, and Voila!
Sue, this is a lovely gallery with a number of elements that fit the surreal theme. For example, the transparent printing over the flower was a technique used by the surrealists. I don’t suppose that every photo using a technique first practised by a surrealist photographer makes a photo surreal but it is good to know some of the techniques they used and how those techniques can be adapted for your own creative expression. If you want to, that is. Your clock is very interesting and the B&W photo is very arty. I like them very much. Thanks for joining in.
Many thanks Tracy, both for the info on surrealists, and your enthusiasm for this post!
I try to be a good host, Sue. Mostly that is not hard. 🙂
Excellent!
LOL, fishing for compliments again Sue?!?!?! But seriously, I think we all felt the same way about our responses and Tracy was most kind to not criticize us too harshly! I think your efforts are terrific honestly. I especially loved the clock.
Teeehee! I wasn’t fishing!! Pleased you liked my images, Tina
For me surreal would suggest an intense quality as well as messing with reality and I think it’s the black and white coat lady that somehow feels the most surreal. Even with the double exposure there’s a clean, dark delineation of the coat, real, but not quite real. Great image.
Many thanks, Agnes!
