Now for a folly at Cliveden in the Water Garden.
Seen a good few years ago on a rather dull day. The pagoda was originally made for the 1867 Paris Exposition Universelle, and brought to Cliveden by the owner in 1900. I understand that this has since been restored and painted to look as it would have done in its earlier days.

The kind of place I’d have used for ‘tiggy off ground’ as a kid. Smiling at you, Sue!
😄😄😄
🤣💟
I’d be very happy if this suddenly appeared in my garden!
I’m sure you would!
Oddly inviting!
Isn’t it!
That was where john Profumo lived, and had his famous scandalised parties. I suspect that pagoda has seen some ‘things’ over the years! 🙂
Best wishes, Pete.
Quite!
That’s nice
Thank you!
I imagine a lot of mischief happening there over the years!
Very possibly
I’d love this in my garden but I think I need a bigger garden!
You would need a fair size garden!
Lovely rich colours among all the greenery!
It was an unexpected sight, Sarah!
I’ve always liked pagoda’s not that I see them often. Beautifully captured 😀
Thank you, Cee!
What a great find, Sue. With the way you e shown it partly hidden, I can imagine the pleasant surprise of it popping out of the bushes as I wander the gardens.
Yes, I think that’s how it was
