A grotto exterior

I did get inside once, but no photographs….when I visited it was in a sorry state, but in more recent years has been restored to its former splendour with quartz, calcite and fluorite crystals on a manmade ’rock’ structure. Most impressive, I am told.

Linked to February Squares at Becky’s here

  1. Always enjoy a good grotto

  2. They are always such fascinating structures.

  3. What a lovely shot, Sue! Really like this one.

  4. So lovely and tranquil.

  5. What a beautiful spot. And tantalising, knowing there’s a hidden grotto

    • Sue

Indeed! And apparently one of the finest in Europe. It was reopened in late 2013, so only a couple of years before I moved. I think we should plan a trip to Painshill……

  6. Excellent capture of the reflection, Sue.
    Best wishes, Pete.

  7. I could have gone inside, but I dislike confined spaces.

  8. Thinking of all your Painshill photos I realise how much I missed on my one trip there. You’ve done it proud.

  9. Looks almost like a sea monster with the reflection. 😀 Your photo is actually spectacular 😀
