Wrong colour for a Chinese bridge….should be red
Ah, so that adds to the oddness because it is called the Chinese Bridge by the garden managers
inscrutable……
😊
But it is the Chinese bridge, oddly painted white 😅
For whatever reason!
All the follies there are white, though Chinese bridges are usually red. I wonder why this one isn’t.
Not the faintest foggiest….
An amazing transformation. But no explanation about the bridge.

No, I saw that…I had done my research!
I hadn’t realised it had only fairly recently been restored from quite a lost garden.
Well yes, and I don’t think I realised that when I first went, probably in 2003 or thereabouts
😂
😊
What a lovely, peaceful scene, Sue.
It is, and a favourite landscape garden that I used to enjoy
Lovely. Is it the odd number of spans wot dunnit?
Well, I’m on a theme of follies at the moment, but odd spans ups the ante!
And the odd colour.
Yes, of cours!
I’m enjoying your follies, Sue. A great idea.
But I’m on very poor wifi and this image seems too much of a challenge, as I can only see the top half 😦
Glad you’re liking the follies, but sad that you can only see the top part of this one. Come back later!
I’m back! On train wifi now and I love that bridge and its setting 😀
Yay! I need to return to Painshill, if I can find a willing wheelchair pusher!!
Do they have any trampers for hire? A lot of places seem to have them.
No, just manual chairs
That’s a shame.
That’s life
Great reflections, Sue.
Best wishes, Pete.
It was a wonderful day!
How wonderful! And the reflection makes it perfect!
Glad you think so, Elke!
I’d like a bridge over water too in my garden!!
😄😄
Oh I adore that reflection and the tall tree 😀 😀
Thanks, Cee!
I looked this place up because I so liked the photos you are posting. It’s beautiful, a tad far for us to pop over, but some day maybe!
Ooh, I hope you might make it one day, and we would have to arrange to meet up somehow, Anabel! Anyway, here’s an old post https://suejudd.com/2013/11/15/autumn-stroll/
Yes, that would be good! We used to have (well I think we still do) a plan for a grand tour of the U.K. when we both retired. But then looking after elderly parent / covid / John not retiring happened. He’ll get bored with work day and we’ll do it!
Yay!
