Found the last few prints of the prehistoric temple site in Malta, scroll down to see the Squares! This could be Hahar qim, but I’m not too sure:
Wish I knew what this was

And particularly this:

To See a World in a Grain of Sand...
I have long wanted to visit Malta, now even more so! 🙂
Best wishes, Pete.
A bit of history to see
oh you really did explore – fantastic squares. Have you tried reverse image search to see if anything comes up to identify the location?
Nope’
I’ve had a look, and some of them do look like you were exploring the Hagar Qim Temples, but I also think you may have got to the Tarxien Temples which are about 20minutes drive away
I don’t recall going to more than one site, but maybe we did,
ah but if not Gozo then it couldn’t have been. Really strange as whilst the others could be exactly where you have mentioned that one in the gallery really looks like one on Gozo. Must however be as your remember
It is!!
🙂
Marvellous. I’ve never been and have few preconceptions.
I was there very briefly on a business trip….would like to have seen more
Looks like a great adventure Sue 🙂
Only for one afternoon, the rest of the time was spent in conference
Now you have spoilt the romance of a trip to Malta 🙂
Well, it got me there gratis!!
I am fascinated by ruins and these are very appealing! Thanks for sharing.
My pleasure!
Really like that first square, Sue, and your first portrait shot.
Thanks, Jo! The first image is my f,avourit,e!
🤗💕
😊
Love it!
Thanks, Janet!
Great to see some more photos, Sue. Though I think there’s not much to say about your mystery ‘objects’ which still seem to be described as ‘niches’ in the archaeological lit. One of the standard works back in the 70s talked a lot about ‘ritual objects’. So we’re not much further forward. This site sums things up quite well and has some nice pix of niches and ritual objects:

Oh, brilliant…it was Hagar Qm then! Thanks for this
Happy to assist, Sue.
Thanks!!
