To See a World in a Grain of Sand...
But those olive trees are far from abandoned. Maybe the house-owner was able to trade up?
Who knows
ooh well shot from the coach 🙂 it looks some distance away
Yep, I fortunately got a few from the coach that were OK.
Never easy . . . you did brilliant.
Hope you have a good catch up later.
No, no one is around today!
oh no 😦 what are we all like. Maybe we can try another day?
Nah, next Saturday is fine
Am greatly enjoying your Sicilian shots, Sue. I’ve long had a bit of yen to go there, but had to satisfy myself with episodes of Montalbano instead, and the odd bottle of Sicilian white when one can find one.
Ah, good old Montalbano! A friend went to ‘his’ police station used for the TV filming recently when she was in Sicily!
What fun!
Indeed, I’m quite envious….
Did you know that the very last Montalbano book by Andrea Camilleri is being published later this month?
“Riccardino was first penned in 2005 and then tweaked in 2016, after which Camilleri gave it to his publisher on the promise that it would not be released until after his death. He died on 18 July 2019 at the age of 93.
Fans are in for a special treat: not only do they get another murder for grumpy Montalbano to resolve but Camilleri himself makes an appearance. He turns up to tick off his detective after he is reluctant to get on with the new case, according to an extract of the novel published by the Corriere della Sera newspaper.”
Happy reading and then a wait for the inevitable TV or film.
I didn’t know that…how exciting! 93, eh? I saw an interview with him when he was in his early 80s, a rather lugubrious seeming character, but his books aren’t like that!
Good capture from a vehicle. A classic Sue shot of decay indeed.
Best wishes, Pete.
Thanks, Pete!
Great photo …. love the old building 😀
Thanks, Cee!
A purchase renovation opportunity?
Hahah
Haha! I don’t remember, but there must have been a newer property out of sight (for me) where the keepers of the olive grove live….
