Still revisiting Sicily from a trip nearly seven years ago…we’re in Selinunte. I have a book, Sicily Reconstructed (bought while I was out there), published by Archeolibri of Rome. Very informative, great illustratIons, and it informs me that Selinunte was named after a wild parsley variety which is prolific in the area.
We didn’t have a profusion of wild flowers while I was out there, a week or so later it might have a been better, but some was better than none at all:

Flowers always find a way, don’t they?
They seem to!
A lovely feeling to this one, Sue. I want to wander there.
Very peaceful…and a lovely sight
I too, would like to wander there. I remember once being in Perge in Turkey and feeling upset at the goats and sheep wandering all around the place until my more reasonable self kicked in and I realised how good it was that the place wasn’t sealed off and isolated but was being used by the animals at least, and so having a new life.
Well done you! Just looked Perge up – looks an interesting site
Oh what a beautiful photo for ruins. 😀 😀
I was determined to get some wildflowers in, Cee
Beauty and decay in harmony.
Yes, I rather think so
Reminds me of the old poem “Ozymandias,” just the remnants of power.
Indeed, look on my works and all that
Exactly.
