Life in Colour: Gold (2)

Trawling through my archives, I found some more Sicily Gold. I am very poor at tagging my images, but believe this was the Palatine Chapel in the Norman Palace at Palermo:

An incredible place, heres a Wikipedia article : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cappella_Palatina

  1. I’m glad I’m not the only one guilty of not tagging photos, I always mean to do it – later. You’re right, this is the glory that is the Palatine Chapel in Palermo. I have a similar image.

  2. Beautiful decoration, and very nicely captured, Sue.
    Best wishes, Pete.

  3. Wow – glowing up view

  4. Gosh, this is very golden! Such incredible decorations. Thanks for the link to the article, a fascinating building.

  5. Extraordinary. Thanks for posting this, together with the article.

  6. It looks like an incredible place. Great gold Sue. 😀 😀

What beautiful gold, Sue. I am always impressed when I see places like this but also feel of mixed mind when I think of all the people who have lived in poverty because a few people wanted such wealth.

  8. Wow, that’s glorious! We spent just a few hours in Palermo some years ago and didn’t see much other than the cathedral (from outside – it was closed) and a market. We keep meaning to go back and now I’ve seen this I’m even more keen to do so!
