To See a World in a Grain of Sand...
What a great photo, Sue. Despite it being Crete not France, it made me think of a Cezanne painting. All those pleasing natural angles, light and shadows, tree sentinels.
Yes, I think you have a point, Tish!
Very Cretan! An island I’d like to get back to, as it must still have plenty of places like this despite its tourism growth since this shot was taken.
I wonder how much of the ‘old Crete’ is still in evidence….
Lovely shot, Sue. I can see why you like it.
Best wishes, Pete.
Thanks, Pete!
Love those lolly pop trees Sue 🙂 🙂
Haha! Good old cypress
Those trees go straight up. It is a wonderful photo 😀
The delight of cypresses
I like this too, those lollipop trees are amazing and because of the age of the photo it looks like a painting. Lovely effect.
Well, sounds like I did OK! Thanks, Jude!
I love those trees and the retro feel of this shot.
Thanks! I wish I could recall the name of the place
Maybe old but it captures the essence of the place – now if only you could remember the name!
It’s the church of Panagia Kera, on the plain of Kritsa……just did an internet search because it was annoying me!
clever old internet xx
Well, and my ingenuity at working out what to search for, let’s face it!
that’s very true 🙂
