what a marvellous shot, although maybe not so good if you were trying to get somewhere!

Life in the slow lane, the old way of doing things
🙂
A perfect rural scene, Sue.
Rather 1950s/1960s, don’t you think?
Actually I was going to say it reminded me of my 1950s rural childhood. I remember one occasion when I was about four years old, I went with the next door farmer’s youngest son, who was all of six at the time, to bring the cows back to the farm from a field along the lane. I thus have ‘first-hand’ close-up experience of your view, albeit from a rather lower down vantage point than the chap in the pic!
😄😄
Tish – I liked your story!!
😊😊
🙂
Ooooh, I like that! So very calm and full of atmosphere.
Thanks, Elke….a vanishing world
Unfortunately, yes. 😥
😕
This looks rural to me 😀 😀
😊😊
A scene all of those brought up on a farm, or near a farm, can recall from childhood. Does this sort of ‘bring the cows home’ thing still happen?
No idea
And worth seeing again. 🙂
Thanks, Janet!
Very rural. Even here, which is also very rural, the cows are in sheds, and rarely walked across or along roads for milking.
Best wishes, Pete.
Yes, scenes like this are very rare, I think. This was in rural Ireland
Sue, this is truly a special culture rich composition – your garbed the rural of course – but so much more is felt here
the casual vibe of et – this man in his element – with his hands in pocket and strong, thin body (aged yet fit from and for this work) and then the color of hist sweater and the darker pockets of his pants brings a modern element to this scene.
then his right foot and then all the swinging tails – and even the placement of the man among the animals was well captured
the road,
the bright green in the distance
ahhhhh
a top photo for me right now
Many thanks, Yvette! I think you have nicely painted a picture here!
🙂
You’re welcome!
Who needs to rush 😄
I do think we all need to slow down
