To See a World in a Grain of Sand...
When I used to commute by train to school, the trains were always painted green. Nice memories, Sue.
Best wishes, Pete.
Thought I had replied….were you on an LMS line, Pete?
It was called The Dartford Loop Line. I caught it at Bexley Station, and got off at New Cross. Sometimes, I had to change at Sidcup, to get a train that wasn’t fast to London Bridge. I think the service changed over the years, but I was on it from 1967-1969.

Ah’ OK!
Railways are good. Especially steam trains 😁💕
Yes to both, Jo!
Would you have been on an LMS line?
I think of trains being green too. Maybe the older stock always were?
GWR and LNER were
So nice to see green train, Sue. I like the second image especially.
There was plenty of green there!s
Very cool train. I don’t think I have a green train, but I can check my archives 😀
Oh, do!
Green trains!!! love them Sue 🙂 🙂
Yay!
Delicate greens for what was once a rather ‘dirty’ form of transport. Burgundy was the other colour that come to mind….. and when I visualize trains “from the past” I can still hear the slam of those doors, then the wait for the Guards whistle 🙂
Yes!
Green works well on trains 😀
Looks like the Maunsell S15 you’re having a ride behind. Nice set of images 🙂
Well, the Bluebell railway do have such a locomotive, I believe
They certainly do 😉
Ah, thanks
