Just one Person from Around the World – Madrid, Spain

Years ago, on a sunny December Sunday in the Parc Retiro in Madrid, I was people watching when an older man on roller blades went past with his dog eagerly trotting beside him. I picked up the camera, too late….and commented to my friend that I had missed the shot, To my amazement, the man wheeled round to face us, smiling broadly, and I got the shot!

Here you can compare the before and after:

  1. Wasn’t he just fabulous!

  2. A happy skater, and a nice dog too! 🙂
    Best wishes, Pete.

  3. I guess the older man here is a street photographer too. He knows exactly how it feels like when you missed the shot. So, he decides to go around to make everyone had a happy day 😄😄.

  4. Good catch … and the people of Madrid love a walk in the park.

  5. Love that park, Sue, and this is a lovely catch! I WANT to go back one day…

  6. Oh, wasn’t that nice of him! I am really impressed he was so good on those rollerblades as well! Thanks for joining in again this week! Cady

  7. He looks like he is having a lot of fun. 😀

  8. I remember this one, such a happy bloke!

  9. Terrific! I’m amazed that he avoided getting fankled up in the dog lead.

  10. I notice he is sure to wear knee pads! Smart move at his age. Great joy captured in those pictures.

  11. Men obviously like smiling at you, Sue 🙂 🙂

  12. Love that smile!
What fun that he wheeled round back to pose for you! Do you think he heard you?

  13. That turn-around shot is simply great.

  14. What fun! It’s a lively park in normal times and you’ve captured that so well, Sue. Even the rear shot is good.

  15. People like that make street photography a breeze!
