Years ago, on a sunny December Sunday in the Parc Retiro in Madrid, I was people watching when an older man on roller blades went past with his dog eagerly trotting beside him. I picked up the camera, too late….and commented to my friend that I had missed the shot, To my amazement, the man wheeled round to face us, smiling broadly, and I got the shot!
Here you can compare the before and after:

Brave fellah!
Brave for balancing on those blades? Or….
Indeed. My balance is cubbish and I don’t even have a decent excuse!
Ah, yes….no bicycles
‘Rubbish, not ‘cubbish’. Though that too, probably.
I had sussed that…..thank goodness I’m not the only one with typos!
Wasn’t he just fabulous!
Brilliant!
A happy skater, and a nice dog too! 🙂
Best wishes, Pete.
Yes to both!
I guess the older man here is a street photographer too. He knows exactly how it feels like when you missed the shot. So, he decides to go around to make everyone had a happy day 😄😄.
Teehee, nice thought!!
Good catch … and the people of Madrid love a walk in the park.
Thanks!
Love that park, Sue, and this is a lovely catch! I WANT to go back one day…
You and me both! Wasn’t he a nice man
He was!
😊😊
Oh, wasn’t that nice of him! I am really impressed he was so good on those rollerblades as well! Thanks for joining in again this week! Cady
I was most impressed with his prowess on the rollerblades, Cady!
He looks like he is having a lot of fun. 😀
I think he was amused
I remember this one, such a happy bloke!
Good!
Terrific! I’m amazed that he avoided getting fankled up in the dog lead.
Oh, he was very calm!
I notice he is sure to wear knee pads! Smart move at his age. Great joy captured in those pictures.
I have very happy memories of that day, Elizabeth
Glad you shared them.
😊😊
Men obviously like smiling at you, Sue 🙂 🙂
😋
Love that smile!
What fun that he wheeled round back to pose for you! Do you think he heard you?
I’m certain he did, or heard the camera shutter….
That turn-around shot is simply great.
Thanks, Tish!
What fun! It’s a lively park in normal times and you’ve captured that so well, Sue. Even the rear shot is good.
Thanks, Debbie….that was the highlight of the day! Way, over a decade ago
People like that make street photography a breeze!
😊😄
