Today, Sheetal says “Show us the things you love that makes your world spin or things about your world that make you delirious with joy.”
These days, I’m content with quiet satisfaction. What makes me happy these days is experiencing new places (this last year close to home, due to Covid), finding the light for my photographs whether it be on the land or highlighting a Still Life, or finding the ‘right’ person in the scene to ‘make’ an image. And beyond all that there is enjoying my connections with others which are still possible thanks to digital apps, food and wine and art and literature.
So, here goes
Places new to me, illustrating the light on the land:

Great choices, Sue. The shady woodland spot looks very similar to some places around here.
Best wishes, Pete,.
Pleased you like these, Pete!
Ah – you always find the right light – and the quiet satisfaction is where most of us must land nowadays. It is perfect in every way – light is everything.
Thank you….but it’s taken me many years to ‘see’ light….. 😊
I guess you saw it, but did not think that deep about its possibilities.
Yes!
A world of light and shade, simply beautiful Sue. I do hope you can get out and about in Sparing to give us more delights from your world 🙂 🙂
So do I, Brian!
Very nice pictures Sue! I especially like the first series with the path through the wooded area, love how you used the light to enhance each picture. 😊
Many thanks, Sylvia! The light was just so inviting!
So many wonderful tastes of the beauty around you, as well as that which you’ve created. The light is lovely in both cases. The one that stays with me is the couple walking into the woods – I love that one especially.
And the couple were walking in the woods in the rain, undaunted!
Beautiful lights! So much to learn about capturing lights from you.
Thanks, Amy Glad you enjoyed these!
“Quiet satisfaction.” I think that’s exactly the right phrase for what many of us are seeking these days. Lovely photos as always; you really do “see light” beautifully
Thank you, Su!
Sue, your photos make me sigh with a fierce longing to walk along that woodland path you captured so beautifully. I’m enchanted! I absolutely adore your slider feature too for they let me go back and forth and take another look at your images so well categorised. Wonderful post ! You are an amazing photographer, Sue.
Many thanks, Sheetal! So pleased you enjoyed my woodland paths…I’m hoping to get back one day
Light and shadows make a great picture, these are lovely
Many thanks, Ritva
gorgeous light and shade 😀
You’ve made a fine job of this, Sue! I especially love your Still Life section, finding beauty and showcasing it so beautifully. 🙂 🙂
Thanks Jo, I was hoping someone might mention the Still Life…
I love the quiet pleasures this post provides – and it’s always good to se your Specialist Subject – Still Life – again.
My specialist subject, eh?! Pleased you enjoyed my quiet pleasures, Margaret Just off to unpack another pleasure….this week’s flowers
Woo -hoo!
Yay!
There is a calm to all these photos. And maybe that’s one of the benefits of being quarantined. We’re learning how to stay calm and reflect on what makes us happy.
Perhaps so!
Great light and shadow, Sue. It’s true that our search for light continues…even during the pandemic!
Certainly does!
Particularly like the people ones.
Thanks, Anabel!
Your coffee cup and a book series is one of my favourites of yours. And no decay? No one photographs the decaying beauty of a flower like you do.
Thanks, Jude! Yes, the Dutch Masters image has some flowers past their best…..
Great post, Sue. Love the light series!
Thanks, Ana!
Great selections, great display format. Well done.
