I wouldn’t want his job at any time, but certainly not in this cold weather! I hope it doesn’t get too slippery on that scaffolding…..

  1. Yikes, have they done their risk assessments?!!

  2. I’ve just returned from a walk and I saw the most amazing worker: high up in a slender tree (I’m guessing close to 10 metres), secured with ropes, cutting off thick branches (amost my own size) with a power saw. I was so in awe. I asked his colleague on the ground if I could take pictures and he said (rightly so) that he wasn’t the one I should ask, adding that I couldn’t ask the guy up the tree at the moment as he was “not in an easy place at the moment”. So I stayed and watched and put my itchy fingers in my pockets.

Some jobs in the winter just don’t bear thinking about!

  4. Our once-upon-a-time neighbour once got a roofer in who thought safety equipment was for the girls. Then he fell off said roof, and is now paralysed for life. It doesn’t bear thinking about.

  5. It might be a ‘no work-no pay’ situation, but it is still too risky in these conditions.
    Best wishes, Pete.

  6. Heart in mouth image, Sue. 😳
