Today we are in Alsace, France, again…this time in the far north of the region, and I had gone in search of a ruined castle, but first, I saw a climber…..From where he was, it was a long way down!

To See a World in a Grain of Sand...
oh my – rather them than me!
Yep!! Although I did have a brief dalliance with climbing and abseiling in my 20s
wow, do you have any photos of yourself?
The best one was lost in a house move, but I’ve posted the abseiling before – first image in this post: https://suejudd.com/2016/09/14/transport/
thank you so much for taking me back to this post 🙂
Wasn’t I the adventurous one!!😄
You were indeed, and you still would be if you could. You are such an inspiration Sue
Aww, thank you!
And a long way up too?
Yep!
Great shot! 🙂
Thanks! I was pleased with it!
🙂
I’ve only one word for this – mad!
Could be Bonkers…
Just looking at the picture makes my stomach run cold!
Teehee!
I watch with disbelief serious climbers! But I remember that shot of you abseiling. I found the water below somewhat worrying 🙂 🙂
Teehee, it was quite something….but at that age I was fearless!
Now this is a way cool photo. Glad you spotted him and grabbed his photo 😀
It was a stroke of luck!
I am not afraid of heights, but wouldn’t be keen to hang over them from a rope. 🙂
Best wishes, Pete.
Very wise
I have never been there, but it was the ancestral home of my grandmother’s family for centuries.
So you have link to Alsace!
Yes for sure.
A lovely region
My knees have gone funny just looking at that!
Well, yes!
That would so not be me!
janet
So not most people, I think!
I would never do that… nope.
Far to scary

Looks like it!
Great photo. I’ve never been a climber – no head for heights – but you’ve captured the action there.
Yes, I just came across it, a gift of a photo!
Wow!
My guts and old bones would never allow me to do something like this now 😀
Me neither!
