Lens artists Challenge #129: Favourite photos of 2020

I have lost impetus recently and I think the last lens-artists challenge I posted must be at least a month ago. This week Tina has challenged us to show our favourite photos of 2020

As I went into lockdown (and shielded) in early March, came out tentatively for a few months in September,October, November and December, and am shielding again, this year has not been a great photographic year.

However, looking back through my blog, I was able to create a few reasonable images, perhaps a few more than I had thought!

During the time of shielding completely, I started a project entitled ‘A cup of coffee and a book’ and these are some of the results

When I got braver, I ventured into some of the private roads around where I live, and didn’t feel too worried in view of the space, the fresh air and people were largely social distancing if you did come across them.

And here are a few random images

But now the weather is cold, quite often wet and the roads damp the appeal isn’t there
Roll on Spring and summer….

  1. oh Sue your retrospective is quite lovely

  2. LOL for “roll on” Sue! Welcome back to the challenge, always great to e-see you. Loved your choices this week. I remember the coffee and a book series – loved it then and love it now. They say it’s really good for us creatively to do something like that. Alas, I am not disciplined enough and must admit my pandemic energy-level is a bit lower than usual. In fact, I am in danger of becoming a slug if this continues much longer!! Also loved your ending still-life’s of the flower vase with shadow and the wine and veggies. Here’s to 2021 and getting back on track!

  3. Sue, forever clever and inventive – your series and gallery tells your story beautifully. No need for many words. Love your glasses image and your foliage…your lone man walking. So well done.

  4. A great gallery of 2020 Sue. You did take quite a number of photos even though the situation 🙂

  5. Beautiful photos and the memories attached. Books, walks, glass of wine and good food – the year had its lovely moments. Have a Happy 2021!

  6. ‘Cup of coffee and a book’ was definitely my favourite project of yours, Sue. You managed to get so much variety into a theme that shouldn’t really have had any.
    Best wishes, Pete.

  7. It has been a difficult year. You have done well under the circumstances. It is worrying how quickly this virus is spreading, even here it has shot up. We are staying in, but even that’s not great.

  8. What a feast of Sue. See you in the gallery of walls my tomorrow.

  9. Wow! A whole heap of Sues. You did indeed take some great shots. See you in the gallery of walls my tomorrow.

  10. In spite of everything, you got some wonderful shots. I like those still lifes with book and coffee

  11. So good to see these again Sue.

  12. It may have been a strange year for us photographers, but you made the best out of last year and our new norm. I loved your cup of coffee and a book series. It was nice to see some of those again. There are some wonderful photos in your galleries. I so adore how you play with light.

  13. I loved the coffee cups and books series. I always felt I could have been right there with my own cup of coffee and book.

  14. You really have made the most of a very difficult year. I loved your coffee and a book series; as always, you work so well with available light. Hope spring arrives soon for you, and with it some relief from Covid.

  15. Innovative project! (Coffee and book.) Excellent photos.

  16. Your coffee cups and books are my favourites, a very good selection. Is the cup in the second image by Villeroy and Boch, it looks familiar?

  17. Such a lovely collection! Thank you for sharing

  18. Wonderful pictures, Sue! Und alles alles Gute für 2021!
