I’ve always had a Christmas tree, until this year, whenI thought it would be a trip hazard. Until ten years ago, it was always a real tree, then I bought a synthetic one, which when decorated with tinsel and baubles etc looked OK. I even had a little ornamental mouse which acted as the Christmas tree fairy (as I lost my Christmas Star decoration, and something needed to be at the top of the tree, right?)
Maus is all on his own this year, as there is no tree, but he’s still part of the countdown to the New Year Little things please little minds:

How cute! I think our last proper tree was in 2004 when we had most of the family to stay. I haven’t bothered since.
