To See a World in a Grain of Sand...
What a grizzly thought! Happy Saturday, Sue! Love the shot 🙂 🙂
I know! But I just looked up the slope and saw that image!!
Of course it’s a giant’s chair. What made you think of anything else?! I hope you had a good time there, Sue
It’s called an overactive imagination with the placement of the figures! I had a good time with my friend Sal, but the weather wasn’t great, sadly , as it had been expected to be the best day of the week 🙁
Oooh, I hope not!
Course it wasn’t…just my overactive imagination!!
Gibet didn’t immediately register. What is a gibet? Something to do with fowls?… I saw the picture and I didn’t even have to read your text – I saw exactly what you meant. 🙂
It was a construction for execution by hanging…..
I remembered the word as soon as I saw your photo. It’s one of those passive vocab words – I’d always say gallows if I had to talk about it but with a little prodding I remember “gibet” as well.
Yes, gallows would be the better known word, Elke…..but I’m impressed with your memory
Doesn’t look a very comfy seat!
I would agree!!
Giants probably come with lots of their own padding!
Yep!!
Ah, where the Henry Moore sculpture used to be.
Oh, really? What happened to that, then?
The one there was a fibrecast replica, it went over to France I think and then came back for a while, before disappearing again. The original is here: https://www.royalparks.org.uk/parks/kensington-gardens/things-to-see-and-do/memorials-fountains-and-statues/the-arch-by-henry-moore
Oh, thanks for this!
There is a photo of it at Wisley in this post:

Brilliant, thanks!
Be nice if you could climb up and sit on it. 🙂
Best wishes, Pete.
No hope for me, Pete!
Right place Right time Great photo and interpretation 🙂
I do try to seize the moment when I see it, Brian!
I’m so glad the person walked away safely! Great shot, Sue, and I hope your imagination doesn’t give you more frightful moments this weekend. 😉
Teehee!
Now that is a chair. This is a terrific photo. It was sure fun talking this morning/evening 😀
It was good, indeed. Look forward to catching up again next Saturday, Cee
🙂 I do know what a gibbet is but with so many people having turkey for Thanksgiving, “giblet” sprang to mind. Hee, hee.

Hahaha!!
One of these once in Warsaw competing with Stalin’s Gift. It does very funny things to your sense of scale
It certainly does!
