Lens Artists Photo Challenge #124: Then and Now

I like the quote that Ann Christine found, which whilst not altogether true, it has some veracity

Nothing is ever really lost to us as long as we remember it.
― L.M. Montgomery

For Then and Now, I shall just concentrate on pre-pandemic and now. Before Covid I would go abroad twice a year most times. I have always enjoyed travelling, Now, I am limited to a small area around where I live. In the summer this was OK, but is becoming less appealing as the seasons change.
So this is a recent image from urban wanders close to home, compared to an urban view from Spain

….and here is a countryside view from wanders close to home compared to Sweden a few years ago

And finally, an image from a Stately Home a short distance from home, compared to a castle in Sweden

  1. That ‘slider’ feature is very cool, Sue!
    I loved playing with it!
    Best wishes, Pete.

  2. Amy

I love how you compare the places near your home to where you have traveled.
Beautifully done, Sue. Thank you for sharing with us. 🙂

  3. Ha ha. Excellent comparisons, and fun! Well done.

  4. Nice creative take on the theme and the stately home and castle reminded me how huge some homes can be

  5. I loved the slider. It was perfect for this post, now and then together . I can imagine the effort it must have taken to choose pictures that showcased the comparison.

  6. The slider is indeed perfect for this one Sue – your post shows there is beauty to be found no matter where you are as long as you are open to it. Excellent choices.

  7. Yay! Slip sliding away 🙂 🙂 Love that first, Sue! Surprised how well it works.

  8. oh this is such a clever interpretation and also a very clever use of the image compare 😀

  9. The slider feature is fun, Sue. A great way to show “then” and “now.”
