I recognise the second two and love them with their strong contrasts. The first photo is also lovely, maybe not so contrasting, but a strong composition and great textures. Thanks for joining me Sue. I think your black and white photos are some of your best.

The light and strong shadows make the second 2 photos really pop

Maybe because I grew up watching black and white movies and television, I find it very easy to create narratives when I see black and white photos. Each of these gave me good opportunity to imagine a story.
Yes, perhaps we focus more on the event when there are no colours to distract…. On the B&Wtheme, I watched a programme about the film maker Fritz Lang….have always intended to watch Metropolis, and after this documentary, I have found that I can watch it via the British Film Industry’s streaming service, so will watch it soon
I recently watched “The Third Man” in black and white and found it more suspenseful than some recent thrillers.
I have long been of the view that many of the old films have more to them…..
I think movies were closer to the intensity of theater years ago.
