Perspective (22) – Through the Pines, to the Castle

Ten years ago when we visited the Cathar castles I used all the strength I had to drag myself up to one of the castles (Quertinheux)   at Lastours because I wanted to see the views from across there to two of the other castles (Tour Régine and Cabaret)….it was well worth the effort, but I was sad that I couldn’t manage more….and that it was such a dull day.

View out from the Quertinheux ramparts (to Tour Régine, and furthest away, Cabaret

  1. Such great memories of Cathar country. Thanks so much.

  2. But what a beautiful photograph! I bet you took a few that day 🙂 🙂

That is such a beautiful image, Sue!

  4. Love looking through old stone structures to the view

  5. I do like that region, but the castles are indeed situated very high up. 🙂
    Best wishes, Pete.

Don’t fret about it being such a dull photograph, Sue. It looks absolutely lovely and the lack of sunshine makes it more romantic I think. You did well to brave those steps up to the castle. I can’t do it any more but I managed some years ago but I dropped my camera on the trip so got not pix. Yours are a lovely reminder of an area I’m very fond of.

  7. thank you so much for getting yourself up to this point, what a fabulous perspective

  8. That must have been quite a climb, Sue. Well worth it though. Beautiful photo. 😍

  9. Wow! To the click and the climb Sue. Thanks for the share .
