Perspective (14) – What the Romans Saw

Well, just one tiny part of their empire. As I have never been to Rome (yes, really…..the closest I got was Fiumcino airport), I thought I would show the interior walkway through another coliseum type thing (at Nimes) –

Gallery, Nîmes ampitheatre.

  1. Your technical descriptions are out of this world! 😉

  2. That’s a very beautiful shot, Sue. And neither have I 🙂 🙂

  3. You haven’t been to Rome and I haven’t been to Nimes. On a holiday in the region I chose Arles instead. There is a good amphitheatre at Arles.

  4. I have been to Rome, the only part of Italy I have ever visited. I have also been to Arles and Nimes, during a long holiday staying with a friend in Marseille. Their arenas are still impressive, but The Coliseum exceeded all my expectations.
    Best wishes, Pete.

Never been to Nimes but it’s on my list for next visit to France (seems to be receding ever further as the news becomes more dismal). Lovely shot.

Nîmes is worth a visit, and the neighbouring Pont du Gard near Remoulins. Yes, I’m wondering whether I shall ever go abroad again….
