One Word Sunday: Umbrella

After Debbie’s post, here’s another take on Mary Poppins….in  a bit of Street Art, seen near Covent Garden:

Linked to One Word Sunday at Debbie’s here

  1. A nice ‘Banksy-style’ bit of street art, Sue.
    Best wishes, Pete.

  2. I was wondering how the artist could get away with copyright on this image, so I looked it up and see that it is not Mary Poppins at all.

Bambi pulls you into a fantasy world as Princess Diana becomes Mary Poppins, floating down from the sky with her umbrella and carpet bag to meet her grandchildren, Prince George and Princess Charlotte. Diana’s carpet bag is from Harrods in recognition of Dodi al Fayed.

  3. Tom

And I can see how Mary stays aloft in your photo, Sue. I’m still puzzled by Debbie’s photo! 🙂

  4. Jackie

I remember hearing about this. I love Banksy!!

  5. Love the image, not so excited about the quote. Not really what you want children (or anyone else) to think. 🙂

  6. What a fun painting, Sue. 🙂

  7. I love it. Does she do many such projects? I will have to research her.

  8. This would have been my daughter’s motto growing up, lol.

  9. I thought it looked like Diana but didn’t recognise the children. For me, that’s made a nice mural a bit tacky!
