Aren’t flowers lovely, whatever colour?
Indeed!
Me neither, but Jude May enlighten us…
Let’s hope!
Brachyglottis x jubar – Shrub Ragwort – the flowers looks like common ragwort which is a weed. Though the cinnabar moth caterpillars love it. This used to be known as Senecio greyi, Senecio x ‘Sunshine’ and Brachyglottis ‘Sunshine’. They are mostly evergreen, sun-loving shrubs from New Zealand so I am surprised Pauline didn’t recognise it! I have seen it in the George V garden so had to do some searching through my posts to ID it, but as soon as I saw the flowers and the leaves I knew I had photographed one. Nice photo.
Ah, brilliant, thanks Jude!
I should’ve recognised the connection to ragwort. Long time since I was in NZ
I think you have a good excuse, Pauline….
😁
I’d call it “cheerfulness” 🙂
Well, that’s definitely true, Debbie!
I’m not going to guess, with my track record. 🙂
Best wishes, Pete.
Teehee!
I’ve got one of these in my garden (dropped as seed by a bird I think) and a neighbour tells me it’s of the family of osteospernum (my spelling may be suspect here), a wild flower called heliopolis. Wild or not, it’s a lovely splash of colour in a shady spot.
It is a lovely splash of colour!
It’s a Shrub Ragwort Mari.
Very pretty. Very happy.
Yes!
Ah, I thought it might be ragwort when I saw it just now. I see that’s the unsophisticated answer, but that Jude has all the detail you could possibly require.
She is brilliant at plant naming!
Agreed she is indeed
Yep
It’s flora!
Teehee!
