Another take on Shallow Depth of Field

I usually have my focus on the close subject, with the distance out of focus, but occasionally I change that around, and focus on the distance. I may play around with that today, but for now here are some oldies:

Lycean tombs near Fethiye in Turkey, behind some out of focus flowers in the foreground –

Focus on the lithograph behind the flowers:

Thanks to Jude for getting us talking about DOF

  1. Great examples of why we play with depth of field, Sue

  2. You are all giving excellent examples of how to use Aperure/DOF. This should be very useful to new photographers.
    Best wishes, Pete.

  3. Lovely examples Sue. I do this sometimes too.

  4. You’re a wizard! I’d say witch but that doesn’t have the same connotations. 🙂 🙂 Love the tombs shot. Been there too but my photos were rubbish.
