As a child, I was always intrigued by what was inaccessible, unattainable, that which was just visible but not approachable…..and that probably has a lot to do with my love of the abandoned, derelict.
To this day, I want to know what’s beyond/inside.
A small sense of this came through the other day when I came across three different gates, leading to who knows where…
A lone white parasol stands visible beyond the overgrown path behind the gate.
…a patch of light visible at the end of the untidy path:
….another gate visible in the distance
Which one do you want to go down?
I did 2 posts with this title in 2015…and now this one.
When I was young, gates and fences never stopped us exploring. We would just climb over them, and take our chances with what was beyond. From your selection, I think the middle one would definitely intrigue me now.
Best wishes, Pete.
Ditto when I was young, and not-so-young!!
Even now, Ollie and I often casually stroll through somewhere we might not be allowed. I can always blame him, say I was trying to find him. 🙂
Teehee!
They’re all intriguing. Maybe that first one – the parasol – what’s the story, I wonder?
Yes, I wonder
As a lad there was a high wall that I passed everyday on the way home from school. As I got older and taller I eventually managed to climb high enough to see what was on the other side…. Very disappointing 😊
Often the way – the imagining is better than the reality!
The third for me. It’s the only one that offers an invitation. 🙂 🙂
Well, I like that one, but the first intrigues me, Jo!
But I wouldn’t climb the gate 🙂 🙂
😊😊
Intriguing Sue, that parasol grabs my attention. Overgrown paths are always tantalisingly interesting. Calls to my gypsy spirit
Tantalising they are!
