I didn’t sleep well last night, not usual for me, and went into the front room to open the windows a little more and the moon was bright so I grabbed the camera…could have done with a longer lens, but I wasn’t fiddling around at that time in the morning!
I seem to recall this moon has a name, but it’s gone from my memory:
Lovely! Next time you do the small hours, ring me! I’m bound to be awake.
I’m sure you wouldn’t welcome that, Margaret! What would Malcolm say?!
*snore*
Really!
Hopefully you’ll sleep better tonight, Sue 🤗💕💕
Who knows?
It may be called a Strawberry Moon although I have no idea why.
Ah, OK
You made good use of that early awakening at least. 🙂
Best wishes, Pete.
And promptly got back into bed!
I don’t blame you for that. 🙂
The strawberry moon, indeed, but a couple of days late 😦 The June full moon which was Friday is called strawberry because there are lots of strawberries in June! Simple as that.
I have a moon scheduled for lunchtime
Ah, OK….well, it was Carpe Diem
Beautiful!
Thanks!
I did the exact same thing the night before. My phone photo paled in comparison to moon before my eyes.
Oh, the image isn’t the same as the experience!
Strawberry moon it is. These moons are often named by the native Americans who used the moon as an indicator of when the fruit (and other crops throughout the year) would be ripe.
Aha, thanks for this!
A great photo. When does 4.20 become daylight???
4.50 I think
Did you go back to sleep? I’m an early morning person, but I refuse to get up before 4.45.
I’ve had a lovely visit, your photos never disappoint Sue. I’ll try to be back soon, take care lovely girl.
I used to be an early morning person, but these days 7.30 is the earliest, and today an hour later!
Don’t think you are alone with troublesome nights
Oh, it’s not often an issue for me
