Logs and fallen trees have such character. And a certain sadness that they are no longer growing.
Best wishes, Pete.
Yes, quite so, Pete
Deadwood host a fascinating ecosystem altogether, saproxylic species, fungi, invertebrates, and all these help break deadwood down into nutrients that further enrich the soil and its inhabitants. I would say that isn’t sad at all but a very joyous part of a life cycle. ❤️🌳😉
A great way of looking at it, Cheryl!
Thank you. 😊
I love a fallen log!
What is it that appeals – the texture?
Studying the ring patterns, I wonder if two trees grew together. Very odd patterns.
No idea!!
Looks like a place for fairies and elves to meet up!
Aaah, the little people!
Don’t let them hear you say that!
Why, will they chop my head off??
Might whisk you away!
Ah, well, they mightn’t have Covid 19
